More Welds from Last Week and This week so Far .

Some time being a welder does not involve welding . Pictured here are a whole lot of bushings that had to have the brass insert pressed in than bored Later I had to clean and pack them individually . time consuming to say the least .

I can never resist adding a photo of a piece in the lathe. The weld on the shaft is being turned down to size .
















This is a jig I had to make in order to get (2) - 1/2 " cuts from a piece of super thin gauge Stainless steel tubing for an airplane exhaust header , the fit up was perfect when I was done !

 This next set was another piece of marine equipment , so many gussets I almost cursed at the engineer ! ( Dave I love you )

Gussets !

The top brace was the only MIG welds on the whole piece and I did it begrudgingly as MIG welds are ugly and weak by comparison to a TIG weld !!

Yet more gussets - the ones on the angle were each hand shaped -

 This last photo was repairing some teeth in the gear housing (which sucked) !
