I Broke Down (MIG Time)

Normally I am Very TIG Centric but, today I broke down and bought a MIG welder for time and money saving sake. I do not like the way MIG welds look. That being said it is a much faster process for the majority of what comes through the shop so, I went overboard and bought a Miller 211 Autoset rated to 3/8" single pass and set it up for GMAW and started welding. The following are some pictures of the first welds with the new machine-

So shiny and new, it won't last !

Vertical downhill on 1/4" plate , it did not struggle.

The following are an outside corner and a fillet on 3/8" backing strips done in a single pass to see if the welder could actually do it. Again it did not struggle.

These welds were done with 75/25 gas mix around 15 CFH using .035 ER70S-6 solid wire.

I am very happy with the ease of operation and set up of this machine, it welds very well.

HAPPY WELDING !!!!
