Shop Maintenance and New Tools

My 60 gal compressor has been down for a month or so. Today I found the time to get it tested to find that the motor had gone bad. After getting a dozen quotes I went with the Harbor Freight option (175.00 $ after tax), wired it up and it is good to go.

The reason for fixing it is a new addition to my tool arsenal , a sand ( media ) blasting cabinet. Working in the small area that I have it was a challenge to make space for but, this will make repairs on old rusted parts much easier and, enable the restoration of vintage parts that need to be painted and preserved.

Your run of the mill blast cab .

It is so nice not to have to deal with the various air tools around the shop running for a minute than having the pancake compressor kick on and having to wait.

The 60 gal is a huge time saver and I get max performance from the air tools .

This is a 5 outlet manifold I build from a part bought at a home brew supply and it works great.

HAPPY WELDING !!!
