Some of today's projects .

I broke this brake lever when removing it so I figured why not try to repair it as I have not had the best of luck on cast aluminum in the past.
This repair went fairly well , I used 5356 filler metal and it welded fairly easily , I have a foot pedal so the amps were around 145 with about 15 cfh of argon flow .
after being hit with the belt sander the outside cleaned up nicely .
I used a 1/2" barrel burr on my drill press to smooth out the inside and it is a perfect fit again.
Next up I needed to build a stand for my bicycles that I could easily attach and remove from my table and this is what I came up with , it clamps to the table thusly .
The clamp was made from a piece of the pipe cut down to size , some old stainless steel 1/8" flat bar , a 1/2" nut and bolt and . a weld on hing. It works very well and hold the bicycle quite firmly in place.
I will likely add a gusset on the bottom edge before it is all said and done but for today it is finished enough that I can easily do some tuning ect ...

HAPPY WELDING !!!!
