ive been told to kinda flicker out of the puddle a little and let the fast freeze do its magic, but i found buttering it works better. are you doing an open root or?
The 6013 is not a fast freeze type electrode such as 6010 or 6011, it runs like 7018 just more amp fickle so , no stepping just a straight stringer or slight variation of. I am not doing open root rather I am welding in a fillet and grove on plate, with no taper just a t joint type set up to get the most surface area to practice on. Many places that i read about the 6013 on said it is good for auto body or any application where appearance and low penetration is important as it is classified as a "low penetration electrode."
